Corleone Körung 1985 in Neumünster. HLP 1986 in Medingen: 101.90 (27th) dressage, 107.59 (15th) jumping, 103.83 (22nd of 52) overall. First year at stud: Wöhrden 1986. Began his showjumping career in 1989 and was immediately a winner; he achieved 4 wins and several placements in jumping tests up to class M. In 1993 he went to the Netherlands.

Corleone has produced a great number of offspring, primarily for Holstein and KWPN; (the majority of them seem to be mares, although there are a great number of stallions, and some geldings (?)). His offspring include many top showjumpers. Some of his earliest licensed sons for Holstein were Celvin, Cornell, Cordano, Corleograf, Condor's Champion, Caramasow, and Cosmopolitan.



Sire: Caletto II Important improvement sire, was “an almost perfect personification of the Holstein breeding goal: Noble and expressive in type, long-bodied, with correct conformation, excellent basic gaits and exceptional jumping ability.” He was champion of his approvals in 1980. And although an accidental death limited his career to just 4 years, he left behind 7 (13) approved sons and 91 (?) approved daughters. His stallion sons include Caretino, Corleone, Cascadeur, Calvin, Cadillac, Cellebrio, Calgary, Chamonix and Calwahn. He also produced the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Champion mare Classic Touch. It's important to remember also the international success of Caletto II's siblings Caletto I, Gonzales, Landrätin, and Cordeka which underpins the unique breeding value of this magnificent performance family.

Dam: Elite II produced the international competition mare Las Vegas D.

Dam Sire: Farnese “The most important of all sires” according to Dr Dietrich Rossow (author of the Hengstbuch der Holsteiner Warmblutzucht). He was famed for his extravagent trot, and was used as a demonstration stallion by the Holsteiner Verband. He embodied the ideal of the Holstein horse per se, and, according to the Federation of Holsteiner Horse Breeders, personified “one hundred forty years of pure breeding, in dignity, substance and gaits.” His progeny were extraordinarily strong in gait and superb jumpers and include countless top quality horses: 15 approved sons and 194 approved daughters. His stallion sons include Fantus, Fasolt, Fleming, and Farmer (a member of the 1984 German Olympic showjumping team).

Dam's dam's sire: Cottage Son continues to be, with each generation, extremely important in Holsteiner Sporthorse breeding. Some of his important descendants are Lord, Ramiro, Caletto I, II, & III, Consul, and Fernando.

Corleone represents the Stamm 2495. The stallions Lord Calypso, Lord Calidos, Lordship, Amaro (LdB Avenches), Alfons, and the international jumpers Lagretto, Las Vegas D, are also products of that bloodline.
