A breeders jewel! Calando V impresses with his balanced conformation (Interieur), rideability and strength of character. He is the 5th successful son of the quite unprecedented pairing of Cor de la Bryère and the mare Furgund by Colombo... all 5 were outstanding jumpers.

Calando V himself is successful up to Class-S jumping. He has been standing outside of Holstein (or not in use by Holstein?) until now and so far has only a few offspring.... But (he has?/they have?) been all the more successful in sport. His oldest offspring have already made placements in Class-S.

HLP scores were jumping 114.56, dressage 82.64, overall 90.93... His FN breeding value for jumping in 2006 was 112, 78%.

Dam's sire: Colombo among other things, produced the super jumper Colorado, and is often, through his daughters, found in the pedigrees of good performance horses.

Dam's dam: Asaka also produced the international showjumper Condor.



Probably the most famous of the “Calando Dynasty” was Calando I who had a great international showjumping career, including a Championship for Germany in the 1984 Olympics under Karsten Huck, placements in Rome, Dublin and Calgary, then many years of success under Edgar-Henri Cüpper of Belgium, winding up his sporting career with a success in Luxembourg. He then resumed his career as stallion for Holstein about 1990.... Calando II was sold to Switzerland where he was a very successful (vererber) Jumping stallion. Calando III went to the Netherlands. Calando IV became a (Springvererber) sire of advanced showjumpers for Holstein. Calando V is privately owned. The full sister Calanda Z produced the successful-prolific vererber of S-Class Showjumpers Cap Calando.
